Art and Science Workshops for Schools
2nd September 2010
A combined Art and Science workshop for the senior students of Murrurundi and Blandford Primary Schools. The children will be escorted to the River where they will collect samples for on the spot observations. Back at the school scientists Dr Noel Tait, Robyn Stutchbury and Dr Carol Scaramuzzi will teach the children how to use microscopes, conduct microscopic examinations and talk about creatures of the River.
The children will then create artworks from what they have observed. Charlotte Drake-Brockman, Fran Watchell and Rodney Swansborough will be running this aspect of the day. The artwork can take any creative avenue and will be displayed on Festival Day.
